The House with a Clock in its Walls: The Good

Jack Black in The House with a Clock in its Walls

The House with a Clock in its Walls is a magical family-fantasy directed by Eli Roth who is usually associated with gory horror films and is someone who you may not choose to direct a family movie, but he is the perfect choice especially when it comes to the films genuinely scary scenes and has a perfect balance of magic, wonder comedy, and spooky thrills.

Owen Vaccaro who starred in the smash hit Daddy’s Home plays orphan Lewis who is fantastic as a lovable outcast who has just moved to a new city to love with his mysterious uncle, he’s a character who you can instantly root for the whole of the movie.

Cate Blanchett plays Jonathan’s neighbor, “Florence” who turns out to be a well-intentioned witch, she has never been better and is her best role in years, after playing villains in both [Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Thor: Ragnarok], its nice to see her try at family comedies and she is perfectly suited to it.

Jack Black stars as Lewis’s mysterious uncle “Jonathan” who is secretly a warlock and is always neighbor and watchable as he brings his humor and infectious energy to every film he stars in and shares great chemistry with Cate Blanchett’s character, they need to star in more movies together in the future.

The House with a Clock in its Walls : The Bad

The House With a Clock in its Walls, is a family film packed-full of wonder, thrills and scares and but features some scenes that may too scary for young children and is produced by Steven Spielberg’s production company, “Amblin”.

Conclusion:

Overall, The House with a Clock in its Walls is a magical, film for the whole family that features terrific cast all at the top of their game and features the perfect balance of imagination, wonder, and spooky thrills that are sure to give younger viewers a thrill.
