Billy Bob Thornton’s new movie Mr. Woodcock came out last week and with all the great comedies this summer I think it isn’t even going compare. Woodcock is a mean boys gym teacher who stars Seann William Scott’s life because he bullied Scott as a student in his gym class. Scott writes a book that basically is about forgetting the past, but it’s kind of hard to do that when the evil Mr. Woodcock is dating his mom. Susan Sarandon plays Scott’s mom who is in love with her son’s worst nightmare.
This movie was ruthless and hilarious. Thornton blows the Woodcock role out of the water. You really do hate the guy! Scott is not that great of an actor in my book because he acts the same in every role. I wasn’t expecting very much out of this movie but I did laugh a few times. The only expectation I had for this movie was a good performance by Thornton and he was hilarious and played the role of Woodcock very well.
Overall this comedy was ok and if you can wait for it to go to the second run theaters, go Ahead! I won’t even blame you if you want to wait for it to go on DVD because you shouldn’t waste 7 or 8 dollars on this movie.
