Break out the Champaign folks! This week we’re celebrating our first celebrity interview! Craig and Josh got on the horn with Lily from King of the Nerds (season 3) to chat about her experience this season on the show, her love of cosplay, and then she fires some puns right over Craig’s head. And Josh was definitely there, it’s just that whoever was operating the sound board twisted the wrong knobs, and buttoned the wrong buttons.

Lily from King of the Nerds Interview
This week Craig had the opportunity to interview Lily, a contestant on the upcoming season three of King of the Nerds. For those of you that don’t know, King of the Nerds is a “nerd” reality show that is a TBS original series. The first season was very awesome (up until the last competition), and the second season can be described as interesting. I was very excited to sit down and interview Lily, unfortunately that excitement was squashed when Craig screwed up the sound board and Lily couldn’t hear me. I was totally there though! Anyways, be sure to check out Lily on King of the Nerds season 3 that airs Fridays at 9:00 on TBS.
Some items Lily and Craig discussed:
- Lily is a teacher who is also a competitive cosplayer
- She grew up in a costume shop so cosplaying wasn’t much of a choice
- Auditioned for season 2 but apparently didn’t make the cut
- Considered going to prom dressed as Sally Jupiter (How awesome would that have been?!)
- Craig and Lily discuss “Geek vs Nerd”
- And she really likes puns
You can follow Lily on Twitter here and be sure to like her Facebook page Lilatron Cosplay.
King of the Nerds airs Friday’s at 9 on TBS: Very Funny
The Maze Runner
Guy watched The Maze Runner and approves. From our discussion on last week’s episode, he agrees that the trailers didn’t do it justice. However, he does understand why they couldn’t give more away.
We are looking forward to The Maze Runner sequel, The Scorch Trials, that hit’s theaters September 18, 2015. That’s this year folks!
Taken 3
Taken 3, for some reason Guy enjoyed this film. Craig hasn’t seen it, but he doesn’t understand how they made two sequels to the original. Hopefully when Corey returns he can shed some light on Taken 3. Until then, Guy says it’s good enough to buy on DVD.
American Sniper
This week Josh watched American Sniper in a near IMAX theater. While he liked the story, he felt that there were places that it theatrically fell short. Corey is likely devastated.
The Oscars
Next up, we have a short discussion around the Oscars and all the feedback The Academy has gotten in the media lately. As a solution, Guy proposes that we should start our own awards show, The MovieGuys Badass Awards. It has a nice ring to it.
In the Heart of the Sea Trailer Ron Howard Introduction
In the Heart of the Sea Trailer – Ron Howard Introduction
Ron Howard introducing this trailer instead of the traditional green screen was a pretty neat touch. It just adds that personal touch that we don’t normally get. Craig seemed to thank that they did something similar with Twister, but I’m pretty sure he’s making it up. However, this move does seem like something Lucas or Spielberg would do. For some reason I’m reminded of E.T., before the walkie talkie fiasco that is. Bravo Ron Howard.
Chappie Trailer
The guys compare it to Short Circuit meets Bicentennial Man
Simpsons Mythbusters
Ok, so they only did two myths. That’s alright though, because they are now able to go into more detail than what they have in the past.
An episode of the Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project explains the new direction.
