This week on the Intermission Podcast, the Movie Guys discuss Mountain dew, Pete’s Dragon, and their trip to the Lost Escape Room in Huntington, WV! Guy then tries to explain Game of Thrones. It didn’t go well… Enjoy!
Mountain Dew
Guy didn’t show up on time, or even close to on time so we started without him. Started with discussing Mountain Dew’s various flavors and It blew Corey’s mind. One particular flavor of Dew, is called Mountain Dew Spiked, that Corey was disappointed was only spiked with cactus juice. Because that’s a thing. Then Craig and Corey talk about infusing beer with hot peppers and oysters. No cactus juice though…
Pete’s Dragon
Corey watched Pete’s Dragon and he was surprised that it was a kids movie! That made him like it even more because he has the intelligence of a five-year-old! (see what I did there?). He does recommend it for eight-year-olds and up to nine-year-olds. Josh recalls that when he saw it in theaters that he got a little misty eyed. Corey did not. He was very clear that he did not.
Trailer Park Boys Season 11 on Netflix
The new season of Trailer Park Boys started this week on Netflix. In season 11, the Trailer Park Boys have gone back to their roots and Craig is a happy man. A squirrel is the main character or something. Then there is an argument over whether or not the “Out of the Park” series was the last season of Trailer Park Boys. Not to be confused with the final season. It was sooo interesting I couldn’t help but not to listen or care at all.
Anchorman 2 Alternate Movie
The Intern watched the alternate cut of Anchorman 2, which we talked about all the way back in episode 16. Then Craig enjoyed exercising his Anchorman knowledge talking about all of the Anchorman’s and their various cuts. Luckily before he could go too deep into his brain archives, Guy shows up! And got yelled at for being late.
The Lost Escape Room
The Movie Guys escaped the Lost Escape Room in Huntington WV this Friday. The Guys decided to tackle the 60:00 room, which was the hardest room, and we barely made it out. Josh yelled at people. It hurt Craig’s feelings. We are not allowed to disclose details, but it was great. Guy amazingly made no racist comments until after the escape room. Craig got mad at Guy because of so many things. Craig, the resident engineer, had to have his wife to do his math for him. Corey yelled at his fiance’ and he was the only one that didn’t make it out of the room. Tips for future escape rooms: communication, small groups, and use your hints wisely, but use them.
Guy tried to insult the female manager at Max and Erma’s afterward. He tried really hard. Our waiter was awesome, he carried everything one at a time. Even the bills. And he only made two or three faces at Guy with his stupid order. Then we talk about sending food back, which no one does but Guy and the Intern. They find this is strange and are quite sure that Craig and the others are stupidly paranoid.
Josh did send a chicken samich’ back in Mcdonald’s though when he found it was raw. This reminded Craig of his special McChicken that was made with real chicken! The Intern once had a chicken sandwich which lacked the chicken. The sandwich part was good though.
Guy Explains Game of Thrones!!!!
Since Guy doesn’t like plots, we can’t figure out why he likes Game of Thrones. So he is going to explain it to Craig (who hasn’t seen it) to see if he really understands it.
It went a little something like this:
“The King asks Ned Stark to come with him to a place but he doesn’t want to because he is the King of his own place. And he has children, but he goes there anyway and stuff happens back at home. There is a wall and there are wild people behind that wall and Ned’s Bastard goes to defend it. He is not allowed to have sex.
Everybody wants to be on the throne with the swords. The Kings daughter (Cersei) is evil. She and her brother have sex. The King is killed and Ned takes over. They set up Ned and took his house. There is a war. Both daughters are captive. Ned gets his head chopped off so his son tries to take over the evil daughters dad and everyone dies at a wedding.”
So yeah, I guess Guy kind of gets some things.
Finally, to close the episode, Craig perfectly summarizing The Walking Dead and he has never seen an episode.
