Hi there everyone! How are you this fine morning/afternoon/evening/night? Well I’m just fine and dandy, thank you for asking! Thanks a whole heap for listening to Episode 114 of The Intermission Podcast! Let’s all dive right in, shall we?
Big news! Battlebots is back! Battlebots are back? Battlebots the show is back, and Battlebots the bots are back. We’re getting all our dicks in a row to set up a Battlebots fantasy league (just like last year) for everyone to participate in, and it’s gonna be incredible!
Corey is back from his beach vacay, and he brought back sand. He also went to a crazy zip line place where they try to kill you or let you kill yourself or something. It sounded dangerous, and we’re all happy Corey make it back without injury?
Craig took a trip on down to the ****** south. Somewheres in Louisiana where all they have is seafood. Craig doesn’t like seafood. What’s wrong with you Louisiana?
After that, we chat for a few minutes about a few upcoming movies. First up us X-men: Apocalypse. According to someone who watched a not 100% legal screener copy of the film, it is not good. I think most of us are optimistic. Then it’s the newest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Guy is obviously stoked about it. Adam Sandler disaster of a movie on Netflix.
Then we go on for a while about Star Wars. Craig sent us all a photo that might give away who Rey really is. It was recently announced who will be playing young Han Solo in the future movie about the same character. That sparks a lively debate about whether or not we really even need an origin story for Han Solo.
Of course the biggest news in Star Wars this week is the happy Chewbacca lady video on the YouTube. We give it a gander and laugh along as some psychotic woman in a car shows off her new toy. I think we might all have some new Chewbacca masks for next week’s episode.
After a few more things that we talk about and then talk some more about, Craig screws up the intro for Ask Guy, and then we do Ask Guy! Things get super serious, sciency, and even borderline political this week when a fan asks Guy “What is global warming, and what are your thoughts on global warming?” Guy has a good answer for the question, and then the segment goes off on a tangent that none of us could have ever predicted.
Closing out the episode as always, we go over our favorite films from the year 2014, which include, but are not limited to:
- The Lego Movie
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Interstellar
- Godzilla
