A few days ago 790 wrote a great little rant about Disney turning to 3-D. So, while I was browsing around today, I saw this and noticed that it was being well publicized that it would be completely animated in 3-D.
Ok, great for Ice Age, and all of the kiddies that love the series, but I have to agree with 790 that disney is really making a bad decision to completley transition to 3-D. But I am not going to get into that.
What I am going to rant about though is the fact that the trailers and advertising for the Ice Age films has been the most misleading of any movie I have ever seen. It seems like every trailer, every bit of advertising is focused around that little goofy squirrel thing. You know what I am talking about. He is hillarious, and I absolutely love the character. However, with all of the attention the squirrel gets in advertising, he is completely pushed aside in the films. Sure, he has some good parts, but is not not the star by any means.
Why Disney? Why do you advertise Ice Age like it is all about the goofy squirrel? I really wish that they would start telling it like it is. Instead of seeing 10 trailers about the squirrel and one about the mammoth, start showing the rest of the cast from day one. Or better yet, include the squirrel more in the films.
Some people may disagree with me, but I really think that Disney is being very misleading when advertising the Ice Age films. Sure, they are still funny movies, but I for one don’t think that they live up to all of the hype that Disney creates.
