This week on the Intermission Podcast, the MovieGuys discuss Josh’s mysterious vacation pic, the local hippie drug-orgy-fest, and other meaningless events that occurred in the life of a Movieguy (there was something about a rodeo). The guys hit on what movies were watched this week, which was one, and it sucked. Also, Netflix is crowned the king of streaming after a recent announcement and Craig shops at Target where he talks about Star Wars. The Movieguys plan their big Cedar Point/Kings Island weekend adventure which will certainly have its highs and lows, and Guy explains why girls suck. Finally the best movies of 2015 are declared and Guy drops a bombshell then changes his mind. All this and more on episode 115 of the Intermission Podcast.
This week in the lives of the MovieGuys
So while Josh is out this week on the Edmund Fitzgerald II (aka the “unsinkable”) he sends a mysterious picture of not-so Cedar Point which gets the guys in a tizzy. Nothing happened in the life of Craig Layne except for the sight a dread-lock sporting, top-hat wearing hippie hitchhiker which he was too cowardly to pick up (stupid Craig). This reminded Guy of the recent hippie drug-orgey-fest that he wasn’t invited to (I was, it was awesome). Corey’s girlfriend made him go to a rodeo where he had “the best time ever and really wants to do it again soon!”
Do-Over: Adam Sandler’s latest Netflix movie
This week Craig watched the much anticipated Adam Sandler movie that was just released on the Netflix. It was, and I quote, “full of crap” If Josh was there he would’ve defended it even though it’s hard to defend crap. The other guys slacked on their jobs as MovieGuys not watching anything. I petition that they should be relieved of their positions. Somebody get on that.
Netflix to be the future home of Disney, Lucasfilm and Pixar
Netflix announced recently that they would be the exclusive provider of 2016 and later theatrical releases of Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar movies starting in September of this year. The guys determine that this will make Netflix the king of movie streaming services because maybe now they will have something other than sucky one-star films. In other news, Ecto Cooler is back, baby! By now it will have been back for a week in celebration of the upcoming Ghostbusters movie. At Target, Craig discovers the Force Awakens, extra-special blu-ray special features which he both complains about and then has to buy.
The MovieGuys are headed to Cedar Point and Kings Island!
The intrepid host are planning their amazing roller coaster extravaganza for next weekend. The guys will be traveling to both Kings Island and Cedar Point in one epic weekend! Corey won’t be going because of his life choices, but the rest of guys will have a blast. Guy demonstrated his roller coaster wisdom as he names every coaster in both parks! Great job Guy.
Gillian Anderson to be the next James Bond?
Twitter was atwitter with the campaign to turn James Bond into Jane Bond with Gillian Anderson playing Bond. This causes Guy to lose his skittles as he explains that women can’t do men’s jobs. He maintains that if it’s not James Bond then don’t call it James Bond until Craig points out they could just call it 007. Guy then continues his never ending Ghostbusters rant and Craig changes the subject.
The top movies of 2015
It’s that time again, the best 2015 movies have been declared. Josh’s absentee pick was of course The Martian which was full of science and stuff. Craig’s was The Force Awakens, obviously. Everyone saw Corey’s coming with Mad Max: Fury Road and everyone agreed it was awesome. Finally Guy picks Inside Out then changes his mind and says Jurassic World which he declared was the best of the franchise. What the hell, Guy?! Corey then informs him that he is wrong so he concedes and agrees with the general consensus that he was out of line and that the first one is the best. Sometimes he just needs Corey to talk some sense in him, that Guy.
