3 Days to Kill (2014) Super Bowl Trailer

Kevin Costner is back for his second Super Bowl trailer appearance of the day. This time taking a u-turn from Draft Day in 3 Days to Kill.

At this point I’m not entirely sure who Costner is trying to kill, or why he wants them dead, but apparently he only has 3 days to do it. This is the only trailer I’ve seen thus far but here’s what I’ve gathered:

  • Costner is some kind of secret agent, possibly retired.
  • His daughter (Hailee Steinfeld) is nvolved with a soccer player, not football, soccer!
  • Costner doesn’t care for this guy, probably because he plays soccer, but it could also be that he’s dating his daughter.
  • Apparently Costner now has to kill someone.

Now I know that’s pretty vague, but I think we can kind of see where this is going. I personally think it’s going to be a Taken ripoff. With Taken 3 right around the corner why not ride on it’s coat tails? I don’t like the practice, but Hollywood sure does like to do it a lot.

Part of me is really glad that Costner is back in a leading role, but I personally predict that 3 Days to Kill is going to be a flop. What say you?
