“Non-Stop” is the new action-thriller from director Jaume Collet-Serra [“Unknown“, “House of Wax” remake] and stars Liam Neeson as Air Marshal, Bill Marks who springs into action during an transatlantic flight after receiving threatening text messages that put his fellow passengers at risk unless the airline transfers $150 million into an-off shore account.
“Non-Stop” is everything you hope for, suspense, action and Liam Neeson in action hero mode. Just like “Unknown” it is a Hitchcock style thriller with twists and turns in every scene until the finale when the killer is eventually identified.
It’s great to see Liam Neeson back in an action movies again as he plays the lead character Bill Marks with the same premise as a man in way over his head, he smokes, drinks and is mentally unstable, but likeable and someone to root for.
Julliane Moore plays frequent flyer “Jen Summers” who helps Bill track the killer on the flight as everyone is considered a suspect.
There is some decent action in the movie to satisfy Neeson fans but if your expecting Taken on a plane you will be disappointed, there are some shoot outs and fist fights as Bill tries to solve the mystery.
Non-Stop: The Bad
Non-Stop is shot with the same one location scenario as 2005’s “Flightplan” with Jodie Foster and with a movie shot in an enclosed space for 2 hours its hard to keep audiences interested.
“Non-Stop” has its moments of frustration as most of the film sees Liam Neeson’s character, “Bill” interact with the killer by text message, especially the first half hour, which quickly gets annoying.
Non-Stop: Conclusion
Overall, “Non-Stop” is a satisfying action-thriller that should keep most action fans happy. The movie has moments of action, mystery and suspense and Liam Neeson fans won’t be disappointed. Expect anything else however and you will leave disappointed.
