We’re back for another episode of the Intermission Podcast! This episode is by far our funniest episode. If you don’t listen to anything else today, listen to the first 10 minutes and hear Guy and Corey discuss the Discovery show, Human Planet. Trust me, it’s worth it. Also, A GTA-V discussion leads to a debate with Guy about a College Humor video being real or not. And, Is break dancing good movie theater etiquette? All that and more on this weeks edition of the Intermission Podcast (but seriously, listen to the Dereje part).
In This Episode:
- Guy and Corey talk about Chuck Norris’ son, Derje. This stems from a recent episode of Discovery’s show, Human planet. This is the most interesting discussion in Intermission Podcast history!
- The Guys discuss the new red band trailer for Machete Kills. Guy thinks that it’s Mel Gibson’s comeback film, but everyone else thinks Guy’s opinion is stupid.
- Craig thinks that “The Dude” is in the trailer for Hellbenders. It’s one badass trailer, but he was way wrong about the main character (who is not Jeff Bridges).
- A GTA-V discussion leads to a debate with Guy about a College Humor video being real or not.
- Is break dancing good movie theater etiquette?
- The topic of a Metallica movie turns into a verbal assault between Craig and Guy.
- Somehow we get on the topic of the “Vaportini”.
- And other stuff!
Human Planet: Dereje
Guy and Corey talk about Chuck Norris’ son, Dereje. This stems from a recent episode of Discovery’s show, Human planet, which discussed the most dangerous jobs in the world. Among the chosen, an avalanche coordinator, vulture feeder, bat boys, volcano kids, and finally Derja! 12 years of baddass, Derja gaurds a mountain from “killer monkeys”. His parents harvest wheat all day while Derja fights immortal monkeys with a sling. This is the most interesting discussion in Intermission Podcast history!
Revisiting the Human Planet discussion, I am happy to report that the entire series is available on Netflix. It is also worth noting that the show is actually titled Human Planet BBC. We wrongly gave credit to Discovery for creating this masterpiece. Silly us. The BBC documentary series outlines all sorts of aspects of humans integrating with nature. From the desert, to the ocean it covers all sorts of neat aspects of human life here on Earth in more of a natural form.
Machete Kills Trailer
The Guys discuss the new red band trailer for Machete Kills. Guy thinks that it’s Mel Gibson’s comeback film, but everyone else thinks Guy’s opinion is stupid. Everyone agreed though, that it will be the epitome of an awesome action movie. The Movie Guys forget the name of someone from a show, and then Craig remembers it.
Hellbenders Trailer and Corey Discusses Bad Movies
The Movieguys also watched the trailer for Hellbenders and Craig thinks that “The Dude” is in it. Craig wins Guy over to his side, but Corey insists that it is not. It is decided that they will duel to decide who is right, then they just decide to google it. Craig scrolls… Drum roll… Craig is wrong and Jeff Bridges is not in Hellbenders.
Corey and Guy watch a movie where foreheads come from the outers of space and attach themselves to people’s foreheads. It had “a budget of $30 and a 2-liter of pepsi.”
Grand Theft Auto V and Guy
Guy is super stoked to play the new GTA game after watching a College Humor video that showed how detail oriented the game was. It’s not like a web channel like College Humor would fake a vid or something of the sort just for the sake of a joke. The guys try to explain to him the error of his ways, but he closes his ear-holes. In other video game news, Valve has a new console coming out that will hopefully bring a Portals 3, and Need for Speed and a movie? Yeah, it’s called Fast and Furious. Then Craig spoils Fast 5 for Josh, and everyone listening that hasn’t seen it. Then there is a lot of Adam Sandler hating, as he hasn’t had a good movie in years, or ever. Finally, Guy burps in the mic.
Movie Theater Etiquette
Craig is a big stickler for movie theater etiquette. Cell phones should never be taken from one’s pocket. Talking is prohibited except during advertisements and slight whispering during acceptable parts of the film. Also, open all candy wrappers before the movie starts. Guy breaks all of these rules. Another Craig thing, no children! He doesn’t like to have kids running around during a Saw movie because they don’t understand why that guy is killing everyone. Corey has a story of a man break dancing before the movie, which does not violate movie theater etiquette.
Somehow this perfectly normal conversation turns to the topic of a Metallica movie ends up being a verbal assault between Craig and Guy. This turns into Craig and Josh talking about Flicka, and that turns into a conversation about Vaportinis and vodka snorting.
