The last few months have been insane for me, and have not left much time for my baby, MovieGuys. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things and be able to keep things updated a bit better than I have been.
So this morning I saw that I had some free time and thought that it would be best spent digging through some movie news, maybe watch some trailers, and see if there was anything cool coming up that I have missed in the past few months. So, I opened up my rss reader, and what did I see? The very first unread item was an update on Men in Black 3, picking up another writer. I new that MIB 3 had been talked about over the years, but I never actually thought that they would go through with it. Sure, the first film did great, and the second film didn’t do bad either, but it just seems to me that they have waited entirely too long to have any chance of having a decent turnout with a three-quel.
My opinions on the film aside, they have picked up a new writer. The new writer, Etan Cohen, has worked in the past with Mike Judge on Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill, and co-wrote the screenplay Idiocracy. Cohen will be teaming up with Justin Theroux. You may remember Justin Theroux from his previous work, Tropic Thunder.
After looking at the writing staff, I actually feel like MIB 3 might actually be halfway decent. Etan Cohen has written some of my favorite episodes of King of the Hill, and Idiocracy will always be listed as one of my faves.
So what does everyone think? Will MIB 3 be another fail or not? Begin debate now!
