James Bond has never failed to “wow” me. From an early age I have always enjoyed these action packed spy flicks. When I first heard the news that a new James Bond flick was in the works I was very excited. For months I anticipated the spin that the 21st century would place on the classic character.
For those of you who don’t know, James Bond originated in the 1950’s, as a character in a popular series of novels by Ian Fleming. Casino Royale is the first novel in the series published all the way back in 1953, before most of Bond’s fans were ever born. Waiting for Casino Royale to be released I found my self wondering how well this film would do, seeing as how it is the first of a series that has been around for a half a century.
At the premier of Casino Royale everyone was in awe. Two and a half hours long and it didn’t drag once. The British spy has done it again! I stayed on the edge of my seat the entire time. If you are looking for 007’s notorious gadgets then this film isn’t for you. He spends most of the movie driving a rented Ford. The most impressive gadget of his is his portable first-aid kit. Although in typical James Bond fashion he manages to wriggle his way out of every tight situation.
Twists and turns throughout the movie will keep you excited and on your toes. Although some people may find an incomplete feeling at the end of the show. In James Bond’s normal style he leaves you with tons of questions without answers, and craving more. This 2.5 hour masterpiece is nothing less of fabulous, and is a great addition to the series. Overall I give this movie 9 stars.
