Sacha Baron Cohen is - Bruno
A while back it was announced that Sacha Baron Cohen was hanging up Da Ali G Show act and thus meant that Borat was going into retirement. It was also announced that he would not be involved in any films featuring Borat’s counterpart, Bruno.
However, over the last few months Sacha Baron Cohen has been spotted sporting his Bruno costume filming for his next feature. Bruno even made the news after nearly starting a riout at a gay pride rally.
Even though Cohen has denied in the past that there would be a Bruno movie, he is definitely working on it now. It is rumored that the film will release in mid 2009. Following Bruno Movie’s release it is rumored that Cohen will be hitting the streets again in his filthy gray suit as he films the much anticipated Borat 2.
So what can we expect from Bruno Movie? Personally I expect it to be just like Borat except for one small difference. Instead of Jews and the mentally handicapped, Bruno will be poking fun at homosexuals. I expect for the film to be just as edgy as the first, and I can’t wait to see it.
But what about Borat 2? To be honest I am not too excited about the idea of a second Borat. On one hand, Borat is hillarious, and I loved the film. On the other hand I really feel that this should be a one hit wonder. Sure, Borat still has some good jokes left in him and plenty of adventure, but I am afraid he will get the Jackass effect. People have grown to recognize Borat and it just won’t be funny anymore. What do you guys think?
