Superman reboot Man of Steel is set to have a sequel. With the working title: Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, there is no holding back the inclusion of another of D.C comics favorite heroes. Batman is back and will be played by actor Ben Affleck.
The fans are not sure that Affleck will do the role justice, quoting past movie misadventures as evidence. Will Ben Affleck be the Bruce Wayne to match Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent? Or will the more mature actor have us clawing for our copy of Dark Knight to fill a Batman fix?
Exhibit A: Daredevil.
The 2003 action hero movie, inspired by the Marvel comic book character, was not very good. The still new to screens C.G.I effects date the film horribly, the acting was wooden and forced and the story was complicated and confusing (not in a cool Inception way). In fact, one of the only redeeming factors was the performance of Ben Affleck as blind lawyer come super hero, Matt Murdock. The movie was terrible, but watchable due to a warm and honest performance opposing his now wife Jennifer Garner, who plays unrealistic ninja, Elektra.
Exhibit B: Runner Runner.
Gritty and face paced drama and action with an all-star cast. This film delves in to the world of online gambling and how fresh faced Richie Furst falls in with urbane business tycoon Ivan Block, played expertly by Ben Affleck. This film is as suave as it is brutal and the sunny shores of Costa Rica have never seemed so murky. In real life Ben Affleck has been banned from Blackjack at the Hard Rock Casino, due to alleged card counting. Affleck is no stranger to betting big, winning a cool $800,000 at the same tables in 2001. This true life experience shows through in Runner Runner and is an example of how Affleck brings realism to his roles.
Exhibit C: Argo.
Based on a true story of International conflict and the innocent people, whose lives are changed forever. Affleck not only stars as broken and flawed CIA fixer Tony Mendez, but sits proudly in the director’s chair, in this 2012 box office hit. When an American embassy in Iran is over run, infiltration expert Mendez is set the task of bringing home six citizens. He constructs an elaborate plan to enter the country under the illusion of a film crew, sent to film new Sci Fi sensation: Argo. Nominated for seven Oscars, winning three, this film is a demonstration as to why the talented and versatile Ben Affleck is fit to wear the cape in Dawn of Justice.
