In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

In the Name of the King, has anyone heard anything at all about this one? I saw a poster for it today and was absolutely shocked. Is it just me or is Jason Statham just not the type to play a part in a Sword and Sorcery movie. He just seems like more of a bang bang shootem up actor. Statham will be playing the role of farmer avenging his son’s death and tracking down his wife who has been kidnapped by the Kruggs, a race of animal warriors (not my cup of tea). The movie sounds interesting but I am curious to see how Statham does in this change of roles.

I am just a person who loves movies. I take time every week to head to the theater. I currently live in the smallest of small towns and hope to someday relocate to a larger city closer to the movie industry, If I didn't have to work for money I would sit around watching movie in my underpants while I drink beer every day. Yeah.

  1. I’m excited for this one! I’m totally into fantasy and I think Statham will be able to pull this off just as easy as he would with a normal “bang bang, shoot em up” role. You just don’t like fantasy movies stan-lee

  2. I saw the movie and there was about 20 people in the theatre and when the movie ended, the entire audience laughed.
    Then we all made fun of it. It was the absolute worst movie I’ve ever seen, which upsets me because I love Ray Liotta, Matthew Lillard, and Statham….so I was expecting it to be fantastic, but it was by far the worst movie ever.

  3. @PAttyCakes,
    Not even Statham could make this movie great. But he did add some awesomeness to the otherwise lame plot.

    @Andrea,
    I wouldn’t say the worst movie but it definitely wasn’t good. At the screening I watched we all made jokes comparing it to the Power Rangers.
