Forest Whitaker - Expendables?
Saturday , Sylvester Stallone came out and said that he wants “Forest Whitaker” to star in his upcoming actioner The Expendables.
At a luncheon for the films producers, Stallone said he’s aiming to land Whitaker for the role of a devious CIA agent involved in the operation. Stallone also revealed that he’s looking for a PG-13 rating saying that this won’t be a bloodfest.
He also said, “As the Oceans 11 films were an ensemble for good looking guys, this is an ensemble for ugly tough guys.”
Wow, the PG-13 rating is a huge letdown, for me at least.

I second the huge letdown! I was beginning to envision this as an even more kick ass Rambo movie. But cut all the blood and gruesome violence? I don’t know if I like this anymore. I have to see it because of Jason Statham, but I’m not as psyched anymore.

It could still be good, they won’t use squibs though, which means if you want your action to feel more intense, best to go with a night assault. With Jason Statham and Jet Li on board you know the the beat downs will be good, so who needs blood and guts? Who knows what kind of dynamic Stallone intends, but Whitaker playing CIA, UH WOW.
Whitaker does those kind of characters well. You want to believe in him but you can’t help having your suspicions. I suspected his characters motivations in “Species.” He some how made me think where does this guys loyalties lie? In “The Last King Of Scotland” he defines diabolically insane. Is there a fifth person to this team? Who do think that could be?

Whitaker is a fine actor, his presence can only enhance the quality of the movie. And absolutely, with Statham and Li, the fight sequences will rule. They should go with night assaults, and stealth all the way.

Has anyone seen how ripped Stallone is getting for this movie? Holy shit man, the guy is really becoming the most intimidating senior citizen ever!
I love the casting of all the action stars from back in the day. Why can’t we get a little JCVD or Chuck Norris in this one? That would be freaking awesome!

Ok, if they threw in Chcuk Norris this film would be absolutely insane! We have Stallone who is one bad ass mofo, Jason Statham who is just insane, and Jet Li who will unleash some major Kung Fu. I coudn’t imagine throwing Norris into the mix.
