It’s episode 88 of The Intermission Podcast. On the show this week, we’ve got the whole gang back together. And they just got back from Silver Screen VII. What did they watch you ask? Well if you’d give me a friggin’ second I’m getting ready to tell you! Geesh! You can be a real pain in my ass sometimes, you know? The Martian! Ok? They watched The Martian!

Everyone seemed to enjoy the movie quite a bit. Heck, Josh liked it so much that he read the book on the way to record the podcast. Well, he read it last year, but it’s pretty much the same thing. Somewhere along the way Guy spoils the ending for everyone that hasn’t seen the movie or read the book, but we probably edited that out. Hopefully.
I have written down in my notes that someone named Corey watched a movie called The Road Within, but who really knows. I don’t think anyone really pays much attention to that dude most of the time. Lemme see if I can find a trailer somewhere…….Ah, here we go…
That actually looks pretty good! Good work Cody. Or Colby….Kevin……whatever your name is . You are a valuable member of the Intermission Podcast crew!
After that, a theory/connection is made between The Martian and Interstellar, and it’s gonna blow your mind! You know what else will blow your mind? Besides that. Get your mind out of the gutter you filthy, filthy person. No. Nope. You’ll never guess unless you’ve already heard the episode. I’ll just say Guy comes up with an idea for a movie on the spot, totally out of the blue, and it’s a doozy. Working title: When Monsters Collide.
Before we finally get to a segment we’ve been promising for weeks now, Craig has to once again mention how much he hates Will Smith, and Guy has to once again go ballistic about it. It’s something that comes up a lot, and it’s usually hilarious.
But more about the thing we’ve been putting off! Here’s what we did. Craig read off some common job titles in the film industry. The other goofballs tried to guess what someone with that job title would be responsible for. There were some surprising answers. There were some not so surprising answers. There were some answers that made us scratch our collective head.
And finally, to wrap things up we go over some of our favorite movies from 1988:
- The Land Before Time
- Die Hard
- Beetlejuice
- Twins
- Big
- Bloodsport
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit
- Rain Man
