If you are heading out to see Redline anytime soon you may want to consider something else. Don’t expect any elaborate story lines, or over the top actor. In fact, the only big name actor in Redline is Eddie Griffin, not really the right person for the job.
Redline is typical of racing and revenge that we have seen in many other racing films recently such as The Fast and the Furious series. However Redline does redeem itself. It does not feature the typical “sports tuner” craze that is spreading the nation. Redline stars many great, exotic import cars. Being a low budget movie the movies investor, Daniel Sadek provided the producers with cars from his personal collection including, Phantom Rolls Royce, Enzo Ferrari, Mercedes SLR McLarens, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari Scaglietti. One of Sadek’s cars, a Porsche valued at $450,000, was even crashed during filming.
Redline had some excellent effects and racing footage, but despite the hot cars, driving, and half-naked women, they were only able to sign one decent actor, Eddie Griffin. Most of the actors seemed to have no experience and slaughtered the already poor script. So the bottom line, if you are looking to see some fast cars and hot babes, Redline is for you! But, if you are after a GOOD movie, I suggest you look elsewhere.
