Hot Fuzz Film Review

March 20, 2007 By Craig Layne Leave a Comment

Where do I begin with Hot Fuzz? Do you guys remember the movie that almost ruined Nicholas Cage’s career, The Wicker Man? Well, it is a lot like that, only good. It is a very funny movie, exactly what I expected from the Shaun of the Dead team. I am not much on British comedy but this group has made yet another classic movie.

The movie features a London cop, Nicholas Angel, that is so good that he is transferred to another station because he was embarrassing everyone. Angel is transferred to one of the most crime-free villages there are. Once he is there he is teamed up with a blundering idiot, Nick Frost. Once Angel starts his new job everything turns upside down. People start dying and the whole town objects to Angel’s idea that it isn’t just an accident. To the locals, the biggest thing that is happening in their town is a lost goose.

This movie is packed with one-liner between Frost and Angel that you will be quoting long after the movie is over. The two make a great comedic couple. They have become so comfortable acting with each other that all of their jokes seem natural. They act very well together and do not fight over who delivers the punchline. I am very excited to see what this duo has to offer in the future.
