Fast and Furious 6 is the next installment of the hugely popular franchise in which this time sees Dom [Vin Diesel] and his crew, team up with Hobbs [Dwayne Johnson] to take down a criminal mastermind “Shaw” [Luke Evans], who commands an organisation of mercenary drivers across 12 countries.
Fast and Furious 6: The good
Its great to see Dwayne Johnson back and teaming up with with Dom in the movie again more as a friend than an enemy this time round and its great to have all the cast from the previous movie back again to pull off one more job, this time it isn’t a heist but a revenge mission, which makes this fast and furious outing much more appealing than the original films.
Michelle Rodriguez is back as “Letty”, who supposedly died in 2009’s Fast and Furious and makes the situation for Dom and his team more complicated and this time round the stakes are higher than any other addition of this franchise.
The action action scenes are on a par with Fast and Furious 5’s impressive tally of 6 set pieces, the action doesn’t fall short int his movie either as there are just as many outrageous car chases, including a car chase through the center of London, a high speed chase on a motorway and a fist fight in the London underground.
Director Justin Lin has also included more humor in this movie than in any of the others which makes it unique than just one action scene after another, especially the banter between Dom’s crew members “Han” [Sang Kang] and “Roman” [Tyrese Gibson].
Fast and Furious 6 PosterFast and Furious 6: The bad
Although there is plenty to like in this movie the action scenes still look cheesy including the few taking down a plane that is in mid-flight and a showdown between “Dom” and villain “Shaw” in which there is ten a Vin Diesel headbutt. The film isn’t as fast paced as Fast and Furious 5 but is does feature more on story and characters.
Conclusion:
Overall, Fast and Furious 6 is a solid addition to the franchise and whist it might not be up to Fast and Furious 5’s standards it’s still entertaining and features enough action scenes to please fans of the previous movies. Remember to stay for the end credits!
