BattleBots is back! After the amazing success of the Movieguys BattleBot Fantasy League last year, they’re doing it again. Josh gloats of his victory as Craig, Corey, and especially Guy lusts after redemption. The guys fight over the rules, do math, and make their picks. So after tens of minutes of preparation, the time has come for the 2016 Fantasy BattleBots Tournament (echo, echo, echo).
BattleBot Fantasy League
Thursday, June 23, BattleBots season 2 premieres on ABC. Since it is the greatest sporting event ever created, it is only natural that the Movieguys host their own BattleBot Fantasy League. This brilliant idea was brought to fruition last year in a last minute scramble which ended up with Corey picking a bunch of bots that didn’t participate. So this year, Craig spent a good half hour researching to guarantee that this year may go a little better, maybe. The pick would start with last years loser picking first, and 3rd picks second, and so on. Craig sucked the most last year so he goes first then Corey, Guy, and finally the amazing Josh pick until all the bots are gone. For some reason (likely Craig’s incompetence) there is one mystery bot, so since Josh is the last pick he gets it, yay for Josh. Each person will get one stressful minute to shuffle through a poorly made and apparently confusing stack of paper with the bots pictures and names ABOVE them. There are no words to describe the chaos that ensues, because, as Guy repeatedly points out, names go below pictures.
BattleBot Fantasy League Rules and Stuff
The rules were carefully laid out and then Guy disagrees with them all. After he is beat into submission, the rules are agreed upon and are as follows:
- Win by KO is awarded 2 points;
- In case of decision, each bot is awarded 1 point and the winner is awarded an additional 1 point;
- Overall winner of the competition is awarded 4 additional points;
- Person with the most points wins
- Make the rest up as we go along
