@Stan
I totally agree with you on the Obnoxios actor bit. And in all honesty I was really Hesitant on seeing it, due to it ripping off Hitchcocks classic “Rear Window”. IMO you don’t mess with anything Hitchcock, even Psyco remake was pushing it. But after spending a few minutes on Sunday afternoon looking for something to watch and coming up empty handed, we settled on Disturbia. I will say, I was gald I Didn’t spen any money on it though.

Kinda late breaking news ,
Wb and Fox have both agreed to a judges ruling on whether WATCHMEN will be released on March 6th.
The day to “watch” for is January 20th. That’s when we will all get to find out if the film will be released on schedule. :)

Just fyi,,, OJ Simpson, is (as of today), officially banned from MOVIEGUYS…
Don’t drop the soap, unless that’s what your into?

Can you believe that OJ was almost cast as The Terminator, but was deemed a Nice Guy, and Mr Cameron did not want viewers to see a nice guy like OJ killing people.
Methinks that Mr. Cameron Was a poor judge of charactor

Sorry for my disappearance from the boards today. Usually I’m pretty good at keeping up with everyone’s questions. Today I’ve been hard at work on a lot of cool stuff for all of you, including a review of Clint Eastwood’s Gran Tourino which will go up soon.
I promise I’ll come back and reply to everything when it goes up!

Yeah when you think about it, that role would have changed his life in such a way that possibly he wouldn’t have killed his x wife and Mr Goldman.,,,
The Terminator wouldn’t have been that good though.
I mean come on, can you see OJ saying, “all be back!”
Just would have sucked.

I guess I’m the only guy here who likes “The Beef” LeBouf. I think he’s kinda funny. I remember seeing him on the Disney Channel way back when…
Cameron may have been a bad judge of character, but he did make the right choice in casting AHnuld! Terminator would’ve sucked without him.

I read on I think it was on (cinemastatic.org)
That DC has placed all its superhero films on hold,,,

Actually Jon, Cameron originally didn’t want Arnold to play the Terminator. He wanted Lance Henrikson to play it. Arnold was asked to play another role, I think the role of the human savior, but he told Cameron he wants to be the Terminator, and Cameron wasn’t about to say no to a 300+ pound body builder so he changed it and Henrikson ended up playing a cop instead… He was going for the Terminator being able to blend into a crowd idea. An idea that he finally got to put on screen with T2’s T-1000.

Ken J, finally has something interesting to provide.
Cool ,,,!
That’s pretty cool Ken, yeah it just goes to show how everthing happens for a reason,,, also how motivated Arnold was from a early time in his career to rise to the top !!! This also points out how Cameron surrounds himself with motivated people and feeds off it,,, :)
all great directors do, except Hitchcock and Kubrick!

Just so you know, I don’t kiss my boss’s ass, and he writes my paychecks, so what exactly are you expecting? Besides, I don’t need an unpaid online job to give me a powertrip, so have your fun. :-)

I must have missed something while i was out and away from Movieguys. Interesting.

Yeah… Ultimately, even you said, Cameron CHOSE to give the role to Arnold. So he still made the right decision. That’s an interesting piece of trivia though. Where’d you hear that one? Was it on a commentary track for T1?

Were you directing your comment at me or Ken? If it was me, I actually don’t really recall where I found that out, but I believe it was from an interview with Cameron at somepoint. It was not from the commentary, because I don’t watch commentary. I had a bad expierence with commentary, we will leave it at that.

I too had seen interviews with Cameron where he spoke about Lance Henrikson being the Terminator. I freakin love Lance Henrickson…I don’t really have a reason, though I did enjoy Millennium.
I had also something about them shooting the last scene with the jeep driving away without a permit and shooting it on the sly with an officer asking them to pack up and them claiming it was for a college project (or something like that). I guess I should get my stories straight before I start typing.

Yeah I heard that too JD,,,
They didn’t have a shooting permit. They figured they wouldn’t even see anyone out there and then a Cop comes out of knowhere. Lol.

I used to be hardcore into collecting action figures, and then *poof* I wake up married and then the next I wake up and I Have 14 month Old and then I find my self with out ME money. Needless to say I have not collected for a while. My pride and joy of my collection is a 12″ Darth Vader Action Figure form the Re-relesed set in 1993, still in the box. Unfortunetly, its unsealed, Damn Ebay, I bought before they instituted the whole disclosure thingy. I also have 2 3″ Boba Fett action figure still in their packaging that were also release the same year. I caught the collectors bug when I woked for Toys R Us, I have abunch of other Collectable Action Figures, bith Movie and Hockey related from the time I spent there. If they weren’t such assholes to work for, I would go back for a hefty pay raise.

This may be a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know where i can find a place to view Stadler and Waldorfs From the Balcony? I know they don’t do anymore episodes anymore, but I heard about it, and being a fan of the Muppets, I really want to watch the episodes, but can’t find them anywhere for my viewing pleasure. Anyone know what I am talking about?
January 9, 2009

@Metallicat
Wow, I completely forgot about them doing that! Unfortunately I never really watched any of them. With “the Muppets” turning to You Tube, I wouldn’t be surprised if Statler and Waldorf return to the Balcony.
Only time will tell. Surely these will pop back up at some point?
Oh on a side note…I too was a collector of action figures and cold cast statues…then I too woke up with a wife, job, and now 3 little ones and not enough time or money in my hands. Funny how that works…Now I’m working on getting my Star Wars Galactic Hero toys through my kids. (gotta start small)

I actually did one of the coolest chrismas gifts, aside from my 360, I got Darth Tater and R2-Patatoo Mr Poatato Heads. They are Freakin Awesome, they now currently reside on the top of our bookshelf, looking down on everyone, we are having trouble locating Spud Trooper too complete the collection. I have already formulated a plan, when my kid is finally big enough for action figures, man am I going to cash in!

My wife just shook her head when my 4 year old daughter was heard humming the Star Sars theme after only seeing me watch the Star Wars: Clone Wars series on TV once or twice.
I’m Dad of the Year!

I’m sorry I wasn’t clear enough. I meant where did Ken hear that. I was pretty young when the Terminator films were at their highest point, so I’m sure I easily missed that. Thanks guys.
I think most of us woke up one day with responsibilities and had to stop stuff we loved. I know I did too. But the cool thing about having kids is, you have an excuse to get all sorts of cool action figures and toys, and you don’t have to feel childish about it.
