I love you man!

I love you, man

The most under-rated comedic actor of all time, Paul Rudd, has a new movie coming out in March called I love you,  man.   What a great title!  In addition to the amazing Paul Rudd, the film also stars the hilarious Jason Segel.  Alright, I’m hooked.  A new comedy starring two of my favorite comedic actors?  Yes please! Here’s the skinny on I love you, man, courtesy of IMDB:

I Love You, Man is a story about Peter Klaven a successful real estate agent who, upon getting engaged to the woman of his dreams, Zooey,  discovers to his dismay and chagrin, that he has no male friend close enough to serve as his Best Man. Peter immediately sets out to rectify the situation, embarking on a series of bizarre and awkward man-dates, before meeting Sydney Fife, a charming, opinionated man with whom he instantly bonds. When his insta-bond to his new B.F.F.  puts a strain on his relationship with his fiancée, can the trio learn to live happily ever after?

This sounds like an interesting new twist on the romantic comedy genre.  As far as I know, I’ve never seen a movie about two male B.F.F’s (Best Friends Forever, for all of you over the age of 16)  Segal and Rudd are very talented comedic actors, and they have a great on-screen chemistry that they’ve developed working together on films like Knocked Up and Segal’s recent rom-com hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall.  I’d be willing to bet that there will be some very believable, R rated (get your mind out of the gutter!)  man love going on in this film.  And that sounds hilarious to me.  I’m not sure if this film will have what it takes to be a smash hit comedy, but it certainly looks good enough at this point for me to clear out a spot for it in my collection of great comedy DVD’s.  What do you guys think?  Anyone here want to see some non-sexual man love?

I love you, man opens March 20th, 2009

I definately enjoy the films done by these guys, potential hit and I’m keeping a space next to my Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall on the DVD shelf.

You could just tell your wife it's really just a romantic comedy (even though I don't think it is) That should work.

Paul Rudd is great, who is saying he isn't? I'll find you!!!

It's kinda funny…how the heck did Jason Segel get to be a "Name"? Don't get me wrong, I think he's funny, and unfortunately has the same modesty as Will Ferrel, but I only knew him from How I Met Your Mother (which is AWE….wait for it….SOME!) …then BAM! He's everywhere. It doesn't seem to happen much. I'm still waiting on Jason Bateman to get a "big break". He's done some really good stuff, (and tries different roles), but nothing.

Anyhoo, back on topic. I think this looks pretty funny. Even my wife was laughing at the commercial. I never saw Sarah Marshall and Knocked Up is on my list as well. (When you have 3 kids, your movie view habits tend to change.)

And yes, I too like Paul Rudd, good actor.

I thought that Segel became a "name" from a mix of Knocked up and How I met Your Mother. People really started to notice him. And Forgetting Sarah Marshall pushed him over the top. I would love to see more Jason Bateman. He is my absolute favorite comedic actor. The guy is great.

My wife thought this looked hilarious too.

You really never saw Sarah Marshall & Knocked up? You really should, they are both really good. Both of them have some great Paul Rudd performances. He is way too under-rated!
