Watchmen Scream Awards Trailer

This trailer is the one that premiered at this years Scream Awards. As far as i can tell the movie is going to be bad ass. The special effects look amazing, and I am really looking forward to seeing the “Owl Ship” in action.

Watchmen has already been given an “R” rating. Not like ratings really matter anymore.

Watchmen hits theaters on March 6, 2009. It will also be available in many Imax theaters, I am sure that will be an experience in itself!

I am just a person who loves movies. I take time every week to head to the theater. I currently live in the smallest of small towns and hope to someday relocate to a larger city closer to the movie industry, If I didn't have to work for money I would sit around watching movie in my underpants while I drink beer every day. Yeah.

  1. Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stan I’ve been informed that the Owl Ship is called “Archie”,,,
    ^
This is the biggest film next year for me, bigger that Star Trek and T4,,,

  2. Archie? I like it! That is a perfect name for it! I am even more excited haha.

  3. Ya know, I almost read this fucking book and now I am really disappointed that I didn’t. This is going to be one of those read the book then see the movie type of things. I may still yet read it before I go see it. :)

  4. Bear,,, I recommend you see the movie first… !!!

  5. Oh ok, only 4 1/2 months to wait :)

  6. This movie seems like it could be something special. Something that could captivate all audiences like the Dark Knight did. I’ve read it about 20 times, the story never gets old. And I’m just glad that it finally will make it to the big screen. At least I hope it will, I haven’t heard much on the lawsuit front. But if you haven’t read the graphic novel, I highly recommend that you do so. It is an all time classic, right up there with the Killing Joke as one of the greatest graphic novels of all time!

  7. Deadpool,,, I’m holding off reading the novel until the film comes out. I don’t want to read the book and then be letdown by the film,,, :-)

From what I’ve seen this film will be huge!!!

I can see your point. I’ve had that happen to me many many times. But I will say this: I’ve read Watchmen many times, and from what I’ve seen so far, I dont think hardcore fans will be disappointed. I’m really pleased to see all of these progressively darker and darker hero flicks. Maybe now I can finally see the Spawn movie I’ve wanted to see since the first debacle. Comic fans could finally see some of their favorite storylines brought to the theaters, even though they were previously deemed “too dark.”

Imagine, a dark hero movie following the villain instead. Am I the only one who would love to see an A list comic villain get their own movie? Follow their journey as they build their criminal empire? Get their feelings as they struggle to fight their “super hero” nemesis? Maybe even let the villain win? (of course, without killing the A list hero nemesis!) Hell, maybe they could kill the hero’s sidekick!

The possibilities for potential storylines are endless now that we are finally making dark hero movies!

  9. I could go for that, but they would have to do it with a cool villian… Any suggestions Deadpool??

The Spawn film was kinda that way, it wasn’t to bad if you like Spawn…
However by todays standards its a little weak in the effects dept…

I hope they add some better villains in the next Ghost Rider film. ;-)

  10. Definitely. It was rumoured for a while that Venom was getting a spin off film. I thought that would be cool, as long as they classify it as what it should be, horror. As far as a villain/hero struggle from the villain’s point of view, I’d love to see Dr Doom. I think the character is complex enough, and there are multiple heroes for Doom to conflict with. That would be ideal if Marvel could just get the rights to that character back.

I am a huge fan of Spawn, I’ve read every issue to date. I also collected most of the first edition of Spawn action figures. It wasnt bad…It just wasnt an accurate depiction of the character. They really watered him down to appeal to the mainstream audience. Spawn is so dark, so twisted, and so conflicted. The movie just felt like they were trying to make him some kind of action hero. I really think the animated series is the direction any Spawn film should go in. If you haven’t seen it, and you are a fan of the character, I would recommend you rent it. It was very well done.

And Ghost Rider… If they end up making another one they had better recast Blaze. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nick Cage, but not as Ghost Rider. I want more action with the Rider, not Blaze. I want to see him fighting some demons, Vengance or Nightmare. Maybe a screen adaptation of the Zarathos story line would be cool.

  11. OH, and the Ghosts of Highway 18 would make kick ass secondary villains in a Ghost Rider sequel

  12. Recast Blaze ?? ;-O
I thought Cage was pretty good in that role… I’m not familer with much of the comic backstory, but those Highway 18 Ghosts sound kinda cool…
Btw, the new Ghost Rider movie is going to be filmed in the UK,,,(last I heard).

Yeah they did make Spawn into a superhero in the film. I can see why that would bug you… He seemed to have the same powers as Ghost Rider,,,kinda.
I’ve read that they’re gonna make a Venom film, but who knows? I agree it should be a fast paced horror film.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some Venom or Carnage in the next Spider-Man film.
