Yes Man Teaser
Jim Carrey just doesn’t do it for me anymore, and placing him in films like this is no help. Yeah, the film looks humorous, but it looks more like a sticom than a movie. The most uniempressive part of all is the title, Yes Man. C’Mon guys, you can do better than that! I know I am probably just spoiled with all of the good films this summer, but I have seen a lot of crap being pushed here recently.
In theaters December 18th

Good insight Stan,,,!
This entire concept is taken from a Seinfeld episode…
I think it was season 5,,,
The story goes like this,,,
The gang are hanging out in The Resturant, George is out of luck, and decides to go nuts. He starts doing the exact opposite of what he would usually do…
This means saying “yes” to practically everything.
This in turn leads to George getting an executive job with the New York Yankees, and getting laid. (A major goal for Costanza). Lol
^
Great stuff,,, the producers of this film (Yes Man), Come on , I’m calling out this concept… :-)
Not that I mind this,,,
This film reminds me of Carrey’s performance in Liar Liar,,,
He’s looking for a comedy comback, and he needs one.
Haha, I remember that one! For some reason it seemed a lot funny when George did it.
Hey guys, lets leave Mr. Carrey alone. Yes it may be a rip off of a Seinfield episode, but I think Carrey is hilarious and I’m going to see this one no doubt. Stan is just a Carrey Hater anyway. lol
Carerey Hater? Cmon, I love Carrey. He just really let me down with The Number 23. And where has he been lately? We havent seen a good slapstick comedy in years!
BTW how are you feeling?
I’m alive and watchin movies again! lol
Thats great man, glad to hear it :)
Hey pattycakes, good to see you are still alive!
I remember that episode of Seinfeld also, and it was hilarious. :) But Mr. Carrey sometimes takes his roles a little to far like he is “trying” too hard or something.
This “Yes Man” concept also, takes the same formula as Jim’s film, Liar, Liar,,,
Jims looking for another huge comedy, but I think films like “No 23″ kinda screwed him.
I agree 790, the number 23 was awful.
Jim Carrey ought to team up with Robin Williams and adapt something like “Afternoon Men” by Powell or “Straight Man.”
I’ve read (Rolling Stone) that Robin thinks “Dr. Strangelove” is the funniest movie ever. Hmm… how could you adapt that for today??
@The Old Man,,, how’s it going btw,,!
Well (IMO) you could make up a scenario but the Original “Strangelove” will always be the best because of the cast…! :-)
However,,,
I could see Carrey and Williams in a film, where there both cia agents that break ranks and disclose all the truths about everything…
They use there knowledge to come up with a way to escape custody and repell an alien invasion ???
Yeah, doing a recognizable “Strangelove”, a direct retelling, wouldn’t be good at all. I think your idea has merit. Their’s half a dozen or more ways they could go with that. The atomic bomb of comedy, put them in a room together to brainstorm and then duck and cover. Hey, a good way to get rid of certain hated suits. Put them in the same room, they’ll die of laughter.
I can’t think of a film that they’ve both been in ??
Could be fun!
