This one is hilarious. Ben Stiller and his father Jerry Stiller make a perfect match in this comedy. Like most date movies there are parts that seem rather predictable, but soon head the other direction. This movie will keep you on your toes wondering what will happen next. Overall the actors were casted quite well, even Carlos Mencia played a nice roll, but I would have loved to have seen more of Jerry Stiller.
The Heartbreak Kid has been classified as “a date movie with dirty jokes” and it is not much more than that. The story line seems unique, even though it is a remake. The Heartbreak Kid did not receive a lot of advertising though, and I think that is going to be it’s downfall. People really don’t know what the film is about. When it was advertised it was described as an R-rated comedy for adults and that made me think, aren’t all R-rated films supposed to be for adults :). Overall this was a great picture and I recommend for any Ben Stiller fan to go and watch it.
