I Love You Man, what an annoying title. I say this because I can remember my theater days and can just imagine how many times I would here people trying to make a joke out of it when purchasing a ticket. I actually arrived at the theater a little early and was talking with the lady at the box office, and in the short time I was was there three different people tried to make this joke. Ok, so that is my rant on catch phrases as film titles.

So basically I was already a bit annoyed with the title of the film, but I am not one to complain too much about titles. Especially when it is regarding a movie featuring Paul Rudd (Role Models) and Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). Basically the film revolves around recently engaged Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd). After overhearing his lover and her friends basically talking about how whipped he is, and how few friends he has, he realized that they were right. So with the help of his brother (Andy Samberg), his mother, his fiance and the internet he arranges a series of man dates.

That is right, man dates. And yes, it is exactly how it sounds. Of course there were some very hillarious moments throughout his dating process. Finally one day it happens, he meets the man friend of his dreams, Sydney Fife (Jason Segel). He meets Sydney at an open house, Lou Ferrigno's open house to be exact, and strikes up a conversation. After realizing he has no intention of making an offer on the house, he exchanges business cards, and sets the rest of the story into motion.

To be completely honest the film was extremely predictable, but very hillarious. Here is a basic breakdown of the story: Man and woman fall in love, man wants to meet new friends, man has mishaps finding new friend, man finds new friend, man has mishap with new friend, man and new friend are friends again and all is well. Well, maybe the story is a bit unique, but you can definitely see how things are going to end long before the film is over.

But just because the film's story was predictable doesn't mean that the whole film was. The comedy throughout the film was truly unique and very hillarious. Sure, it was a bit crude and lude, but it was hillarious! I had some great laughs watching I Love You Man and am sure that most of you will too. There were so many fun and humorous moments, and there were so many quick and quirky jokes.

What is my conclusion? I am going to call this an excellent film and recomend it to all MovieGuys readers that like the Role Models / Forgetting Sarah Marshall style comedies. This film is really the best of both worlds. I normally dont do this but I would also like to recommend this to "The One and Only Momo" a regular commentor here, as I really feel that she would enjoy Andy Samburg's role.
