0 CommentsPosted by Craig Layne on March 13, 2010 under Featured, Movie News
Let me just start by saying that this bit of news is 100% RUMOR at this point in time. I received this tip from a MovieGuys reader, and I am unable to confirm this bit of news. Recently FX announced that they had ordered a second season of their new animated series, Archer. Archer has averaged nearly 1.2 million viewers for each airing. This is pretty good, seeing as how the show is aired lat... more. -
Cartoon Network Signs Production Deal For Weird Al’s New Movie

I can't decide if I'm excited to hear about Weird Al's new movie or if I'm just a little bit creeped out by it. On the one hand, I've always enjoyed Weird Al's parody songs. Of course, I'm not old enough to remember “I Lost On Jeopardy” and “My Bologna”, songs of his that were popular back in the '80s, but I have heard the re-runs. On the other hand, I just can't imagine someone who sings ... more. -

1 CommentsPosted by Craig Layne on February 2, 2010 under Featured, Movie News
A friend of mine recently asked me if I'd heard anything about the new George Lucas CGI Musical. I thought he was joking so I asked him for the punch line. I figured it would have something to do with animated Ewoks in pink tutus or Luke Skywalker and Princes Leia waltzing to the hauntingly melodic tunes of the Jedi Symphony Orchestra. But, apparently, it's true. Rumor has it there IS a George Lu... more. -

More information on the Spiderman 4 debacle! Apparently both Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi are both for sure out of the continuing franchise. Yesterday Sony Pictures gave an official press release stating that director Marc Webb would be taking the job. The job of Peter Parker has still not been decided and rumors will probably continue to fly for quite some time. During the press release Amy Pascal... more. -

Avatar Review
1 CommentsPosted by Paul on January 12, 2010 under Action, Movie News, Movie Reviews, Sci-FiA belated review of James Cameron's Avatar. Which is probably for the best, as the dust has now settled on all the hype and hyperbole, even as it is breaking more box office records as I type. There goes another one! Avatar has now officially made $700 gazillion, give or take a trillion. So, first things first, does this "game-changer" really merit all the plaudits? The answer is a reso... more. -
A-Team Trailer and Cast Update
2 CommentsPosted by Paul on January 12, 2010 under Movie News, Movie TrailersA bootlegged version of the first A-Team movie trailer leaked onto the internet last week, forcing WB into releasing their official hi-res version. It starts with hints that Joe Carnahan has approached the film version of the TV classic with the intention of a more serious version, a la Michael Mann and the big-screen Miami Vice update, though maybe slightly flashier. This quickly reverts to ... more. -
Spider-Man to be Rebooted
0 CommentsPosted by Paul on January 12, 2010 under Movie NewsNews broke yesterday that Spider-Man 4 was to be scrapped, and the franchise rebooted, with the entire cast and crew being replaced. To me, this is insane news and highlights a major problem within the industry at the minute. Admittedly, Spider-Man 3 was atrocious but I was looking forward to seeing Raimi make amends. After all, the universe he has created was brilliant and unique, and was ... more. -
