Another look at Crank 2: High Voltage

Shortly after the last trailer we published for Crank 2 it was removed. So here is the latest trailer, as seen on IGN.

Now, I am going to be the first to say, I think that the entire idea for a sequel is absurd. However, I have come to terms with it, and am ready to see a kick ass action film.Sadly, I doubt that will happen. I am already thinking that Statham is setting himself up for a big failure.

What do you guys think? The big question i would like discuessed is sequel vs. prequel. I really think it would have been more suited as a prequel. I would have even been happy if some of the rumors were true and the first film was just a dream. But, I will let you guys decide. I await your verdict.

The trailer is back up and is viewable from the original post, in case anyone is interested.

    Prequel vs Sequel
It should’ve been a prequel, I’m not even going to try to argue that point. But I refuse to allow the “resurrection” part ruin my enjoyment of a typical Statham action flick. Let’s not fool ourselves here… Do we go to Jason Statham movies because we want to see high quality, “oscar quality” film making? Hell no. We go to see some intense action. We go to see bad ass fight sequences. So why the outrage over this? I think it should be expected from him now. Just another run of the mill Statham action flick, and I don’t think it’ll be any worse than Death Race.

And none of this has affected my enjoyment of Jason Statham. I like his movies. They are fun, exciting and bad ass. When I want to see some bad ass action, I seek out a Statham flick.

I really can’t get past the ending of Crank, and the premise of this film.

I’ll read the reviews on this before I rent it. :)

Ok Jon, Sorry if this is the same trailer. I tried to check but my flash player isn;t working at the moment (Damn Linux haha).

No, I dont expect oscar winning material. I completely agree that Statham is action, and nothing more. But come on! Making a sequel is taking away from the awesomeness of the first one.

I could have dealt with it if the first one would have turned out to be a dream, hell maybe it still will. I dunno.

It is a different trailer. A lot of the same footage, but some new stuff. I just meant that the one that was taken down is up again, and can be viewed from the page on which I posted it.

The sequel doesn’t taint the legacy of the first one. The first was awesome, and it always will be. It does make those responsible look like retards. It even makes Statham look bad. But I’ll always love the original, and I’m pretty sure I will find some level of enjoyment out of the sequel.
